Ongoing & Upcoming Events

DODGEBALL is back at the St. Michael Festival on Labor Day weekend (Sep 2-4)! Go to www.smaa-events.com now to register; see below for more information. All proceeds from the Dodgeball Tournament are donated to the St. Michael Festival.

The 2016 TOM KALINOSKI MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING, held Aug 1, was a great success! Over 18 teams of golfers enjoyed a sunny afternoon and a beautiful round of golf at Scioto Reserve Golf Club, joined afterword by a number of additional revelers for a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres event at the clubhouse. Over 10 hole sponsors also supported the event, making it a very successful fundraiser for St. Michael athletics and a great day of fellowship. Check back here in the spring for information about next year's event!

FALL SPORTS registration is CLOSED. Fall sports include Soccer, Golf, Cross-Country, Volleyball, Football, and Cheerleading. New this year: K-3 Soccer. Registration is closed, but if you are still interested in your child participating, please contact the coordinator for that sport. See "Fall Sports" below for more information, including fees, registration deadlines, season start & end dates, and coordinator info.

WINTER SPORTS: registration will occur in October for Boys' Basketball and Girls Basketball. Basketball practices start in early November, with games starting the first weekend of December and running through the end of February. For more information about the teams or coaching, please contact the coordinators: Boys' Basketball - Mark Schweier mlscheiwer@gmail.com; Girls' Basketball - Mary Ohlin mohlin64@hotmail.com.

VOLUNTEERS: Interested in coaching? Contact the coordinator for the sport(s) you are interested in (visit Contact Us page page). All coaches need completed fingerprinting / background check and Protecting God's Children; head coaches also need Play Like a Champion and concussion awareness training. We can assist with these. Also, if you would like to volunteer for the Athletic Association but coaching isn't your thing, we can use help with coordinators or with fundraising / social events or other positions. Contact Fidel Pitones (Fidel.Pitones@Whiting-Turner.com) or Leo Kowalyk (leokowalyk@hotmail.com) and we can help you find your niche and get you in touch with the right people. Remember: coaching and other SMAA volunteering counts for St. Michael school volunteer hours!

SOCIAL EVENTS & FUNDRAISERS: Upcoming events include EUCHRE TOURNAMENT AND CHILI COOKOFF on November 11, NCAA BRACKETS in March, A NIGHT AT THE RACES in the spring, and our GOLF OUTING over the summer. Our goal for SMAA social / fundraising events is for everyone who participates to have a great time while we raise money to support St. Michael athletics. Per-sport registration fees only cover league fees and referee payments, so we count on fundraising to enable us to provide high-quality uniforms, equipment, and facilities for our children as well as fund our scholarship program. Hopefully you'll be able to join us for one of these! Contact SMAAFundraising@gmail.com if you would like to help or for sponsorship opportunities.

GO WARRIORS!
